Google Analytics next to your SEO audit: fix the busy pages first
SEOSage, a desktop app for Mac and Windows, has a Traffic page that puts your Google Analytics visit numbers next to the problems of every page it crawled. A broken link on your busiest page can then be fixed before a missing title on a page nobody visits.

See visits next to problems
Open Traffic in a site's menu, under Search and traffic. Crawl the site first, then connect Google Analytics with read-only access. SEOSage picks the Analytics property that matches your project's website address, or asks you to choose one.
Visits 12,480 · Pages with visits 96 of 124 · Visits on pages with problems 38% · Pages nobody visits 9
What the Traffic page shows
- Five boxes that are also tabs: Visits, Pages with visits, Visits on pages with problems, Pages nobody visits and Events. Click a box to see its list
- Fix these first: Busy pages that have errors or warnings, most visited first. Under each page you see its biggest problem
- Visits next to problems: For each page: visits, visitors, how many of them were engaged, and the number of errors, warnings and notices
- Broken pages that still get visits: A line above the list names them, so you can fix or redirect them first
- Pages nobody visits: Pages that search engines can use but that got no visits. Improve them, link to them from busier pages, merge them or remove them
- Events: Every Google Analytics event you track, such as page views, scrolls, clicks and form sign-ups, with how many times it happened and how many people did it. Click an event to see the pages where it happens most
- Time frame, search and export: Last 7, 28 or 90 days. Search the pages or the events, and export CSV
- Fresh when you need it: Your numbers are saved on your computer and loaded from Google again after 6 hours, or when you press Refresh
What it does not do
SEOSage only reads visit numbers and events. It can never change anything in your Google Analytics account. It works with Google Analytics 4, and it shows numbers only for the pages your crawl found.
It is not a full analytics tool, and it does not replace Google Analytics. The numbers run up to yesterday. Visitors who block tracking are not counted by Google Analytics, so a page can show fewer visits than it really had.
How it works in three steps
- Crawl the site. The Traffic page needs a crawl, so there are pages to put the visit numbers next to.
- Connect Google Analytics.Open Traffic in the site menu, press Connect Google Analytics and sign in with Google. If SEOSage does not find the right property on its own, choose the one that measures your site.
- Fix the busy pages first.Start at the top of Fix these first. Then look at the broken pages that still get visits, and at the events to see which pages bring sign-ups.

Questions about this check
What does the Traffic page do?
It puts the visit numbers from your Google Analytics next to the SEO problems SEOSage found on each page, so you can fix the busy pages first. It also lists broken pages that still get visits, pages nobody visits and the events people trigger on your site.
Do I need a crawl first?
Yes. The visit numbers are matched with the pages of your latest crawl. Without a crawl there is nothing to put them next to.
Can SEOSage change anything in my Google Analytics account?
No. SEOSage asks for read-only access and only reads visit numbers and events. It can never change anything in your account.
Why does Google show a not verified notice?
Google shows it for apps it has not finished reviewing. We have asked Google to remove it. Until Google approves, the notice can still appear the first time you connect: choose Advanced, then Go to SEOSage.
Which version of Google Analytics does it work with?
Google Analytics 4. SEOSage looks for the property whose website address matches your project, and you can choose a different one.
How old are the numbers?
They run up to yesterday. SEOSage saves them on your computer and asks Google again after 6 hours, or when you press Refresh. You can look at the last 7, 28 or 90 days.
What are events?
Anything Google Analytics records on your site, such as page views, scrolls, clicks and form sign-ups. The Events box lists them with how many times each one happened and how many people did it. Click an event to see the pages where it happens most.
Can I export the lists?
Yes. Each page list and the events list has an Export CSV button.
How is it different from the Search Console report?
The Search Console report shows how people find your site in Google. The Traffic page shows how many people visit each page, from Google Analytics, next to the problems of that page.
