Privacy Policy

The short version

• SEOSage runs on your computer. Your projects, crawl results and reports are saved there.
• The app does not send your crawl results, projects or usage statistics to us.
• We do not sell your data, and this website has no advertising. The website uses analytics to count visits (see “This website”).
• If you connect Google Search Console, SEOSage only reads that data, and it stays on your computer. We never receive or share it.
• A few features contact other services, only when you use them. They are listed below.

The SEOSage app

What stays on your computer. The websites you add, the pages and issues found in a crawl, your settings and your reports are stored on your computer. If you add sign-in details to crawl a password-protected or staging site, they are stored on your computer only.

What the app contacts. When you crawl a website, SEOSage requests that site's pages, and the site can see those requests, like any visitor or search engine. The app also contacts:

• Google, for site icons. To show a small icon for each website, the app asks Google's public icon service using the website's domain name.
• Google PageSpeed Insights, only if you add a Google key. Core Web Vitals uses a built-in estimate by default. If you add a Google API key in Settings, the address of the page you test and your key are sent to Google to get its score.
• Google Search Console, only if you connect it. The connection is read-only and you approve it with your own Google account. Details are in Google user data below.
• Claude, only if you connect it. The connector lets Claude read your crawl results on your computer when you ask it a question or ask it to build a report. It is read-only, and your login and passwords are never shared. What Claude does with your prompts is covered by its own terms and privacy policy.

Google user data (Search Console)

If you choose to connect Google Search Console, this is exactly what SEOSage does with your Google data.

• What we read. SEOSage reads your Search Console data: the list of websites in your account, and for a site you pick, its clicks, impressions, click rate, average position, and the search queries and pages behind them.
• Read-only. SEOSage asks Google for read-only access (the webmasters.readonly permission). It cannot change, add or delete anything in your Search Console account.
• It stays on your computer. The connection is made directly between the SEOSage app on your computer and Google. The data, and the sign-in token that lets SEOSage read it, are stored on your computer only. The token is stored encrypted where your computer supports it. Our servers never receive it.
• We do not share it. We do not receive, store, sell, share or transfer your Search Console data to anyone. We do not use it for advertising, and no person at SEOSage reads it. If you also connect Claude, Claude can read it only on your computer, only when you ask it a question.
• You are in control. You can disconnect at any time inside SEOSage, or remove access in your Google account at myaccount.google.com/permissions. Uninstalling the app removes the data from your computer.

SEOSage’s use and transfer of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.

This website

What we collect. If you email [email protected], we receive your email address and what you write, and we use it only to reply and to keep a record of the conversation.

Analytics on this website. To understand how many people visit and which pages they read, this website uses Google Tag Manager, which loads Google Analytics and Ahrefs Web Analytics. They can collect things like the pages you view, how you arrived, your approximate location, and your browser and device. Some of these tools may set cookies. You can accept or decline them in the cookie notice, and change your choice any time with “Cookie settings” in the footer. If you decline, we do not run Google Analytics for you (in some countries, including the EU and UK, analytics stays off until you accept). This applies to the website only. The SEOSage app does not use them and does not send us your crawl data. To opt out, you can block these scripts in your browser, use a content blocker, or install Google’s Analytics opt-out add-on.

Feature requests. If you send a request through the feature request form, we receive what you write and your email address. We use it only to decide what to build and to reply to you.

Server logs. Like most websites, our web host keeps standard logs, such as IP address, browser and the pages requested, to keep the site secure and running. We do not use them to identify visitors.

Sharing

We do not sell or rent personal data. We share it only with the services above when you choose to use them, with Google and Ahrefs for website analytics, with our web and email providers so the site and email work, or when the law requires it.

Your choices

You can delete a project or its crawl data in the app at any time, and uninstalling the app removes its data from your computer. To ask what we hold about you from email, or to have it deleted, write to [email protected].

Changes to this policy

If we change how data is handled, we will update this page and the date at the top. New app features are listed in the changelog.
