AI visibility: see if ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini and Perplexity mention your site
SEOSage, a desktop app for Mac and Windows, asks ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini and Perplexity the questions your customers ask. It shows whether each one mentions your site, links to it, and what it says. It uses your own keys for those AI tools.

Ask AI tools what your customers ask
Open AI Visibility in a project's menu, under Search and traffic, right after Competitors. Add the questions people ask about your field, press Check now, and read what each AI tool answered. It uses the site of the project you have open.
Example data: a made-up shop and made-up answers, not real AI answers. Your own results show what the AI tools really say.
What the AI Visibility page shows
- A verdict for each question and each AI tool: Mentioned, Mentioned + linked, or Not mentioned. Mentioned + linked means the answer or its references include a link to your site New
- The tone about your site: positive, neutral or negative, for each answer that mentions you. It is a simple guess from the words used near your site's name, so treat it as a hint
- The full answer: What the AI tool really wrote. Press More to read all of it
- The references: The links the AI tool used, including links it wrote inside its answer
- Summary: How many answers mention you (for example 8 of 12), your share of voice and the time of the last check
- Share of voice: Your mentions out of all the mentions of you and of the competitors you track in SEOSage
- Copy icons: One on each answer, and one on each question that copies the question with every AI tool's answer and references
- Clear errors: A check that fails says why, for example Bad key, No credit or Timed out
What it does not do
AI Visibility asks ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini and Perplexity. It does not check Google AI Overviews. It only asks the AI tools you have added a key for.
AI tools can answer differently each time they are asked, so a result is a snapshot of that moment. It shows what an AI tool answers to your questions, not how many people see that answer.

Read every answer, with its references
Each question gets one row for each AI tool, with the verdict, the tone, the answer and the links the AI tool used. Press More to read a full answer. The copy icons copy one answer, or a whole question with every AI tool's answer and references.
Example data: a made-up shop and made-up answers, not real AI answers.
Add the questions your customers ask
A good question is one a customer would type into an AI tool before they buy, for example "best CRM for small teams". This is what happens next:
- Add questions one at a time. Type a question and press Add. You can add up to 50 for each project.
- Or import many at once. Press Import file and choose an Excel, CSV or text file with one question on each row, in the first column. A header row that says Question is skipped.
- See what was added. SEOSage tells you how many questions were added and how many were skipped, for example because they were already there, were too short or went over the limit.
- Remove a question with the cross at the end of its row.
Connect your keys
AI Visibility asks the AI tools through your own accounts, so it needs a key for each tool you want to check. You can add one, two, three or all four.
- Open the keys in Settings.Press Add keys in Settings at the top of the Results card. Settings opens at the AI visibility card. Before the first check, Results shows each AI tool as Connected or Not connected.
- Paste a key for each AI tool.Create the key in your account with that AI company, paste it in the box for that tool and save it. After saving, the box says it is saved and asks you to paste a new key only if you want to replace it. The key is never shown back on the page.
- Go back and press Check now.Press Back to AI Visibility in the AI visibility card, then Check now. SEOSage also checks once a week by itself, as long as at least one key is saved.
What happens to your keys
Your keys are stored sealed on your own computer. Each key is only sent to the AI tool it belongs to, and never anywhere else.
What a check costs
A check costs a few cents at most. The AI company charges it to your own account, because the check uses your key.
If a check fails, the row says why instead of showing a verdict:
- Bad key: The AI company did not accept the key. Check it in Settings.
- No credit: The account is out of credit, or its limit was reached. Check your account with that AI company.
- Timed out: The AI tool took too long. Press Check now again.
If a key is refused or out of credit, SEOSage stops asking that AI tool for the rest of that check.
How it works in three steps
- Add your questions.Type them, or import them from a file. Up to 50 for each project.
- Add your keys.Paste a key for each AI tool in Settings, under AI visibility.
- Press Check now.Read the verdicts, the tone, the answers and the references. SEOSage checks again once a week by itself.

Questions about AI Visibility
What is AI visibility?
Whether AI tools such as ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini and Perplexity mention your site when someone asks them a question. SEOSage asks them the questions your customers ask, then shows what each one answered, whether it mentioned or linked to your site and what it said about it.
Which AI tools does it ask?
ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini and Perplexity. It asks the ones you have added a key for. Google AI Overviews are not included.
Do I need my own keys?
Yes. SEOSage uses your own key for each AI tool, added in Settings under AI visibility. The keys are stored sealed on your computer, each one is only sent to its own AI tool, and it is never shown back on the page.
How much does a check cost?
A check costs a few cents at most. The AI company charges it to your own account, because the check uses your key.
How many questions can I add?
Up to 50 for each project. Add them one at a time, or press Import file and choose an Excel, CSV or text file with one question on each row, in the first column. SEOSage says how many were added and how many were skipped, for example because they were already there, were too short or went over the limit.
How often does it check?
Press Check now whenever you like. SEOSage also checks once a week by itself, as long as at least one key is saved.
What do Mentioned, Mentioned + linked and Not mentioned mean?
Mentioned means the answer names your site. Mentioned + linked means the answer or its references also include a link to your site. Not mentioned means the answer does not name your site. A mention comes with a tone: positive, neutral or negative. The tone is a simple guess from the words used near your site's name, so treat it as a hint.
What does share of voice mean?
Your mentions out of all the mentions of you and of the competitors you track in SEOSage. It only counts answers that came back.
What if a check fails?
The row says why instead of showing a verdict: Bad key, No credit or Timed out. Fix the key or the credit in your account with that AI company, then press Check now again.
Will I get the same answer every time?
Not always. AI tools can answer differently each time they are asked, so a result is a snapshot of that moment.
Where do my questions go?
Each question is sent to the AI tools you have a key for, to get an answer. Your keys are only sent to the AI tool they belong to.
Are ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini and Perplexity part of SEOSage?
No. They are trademarks of their owners, and SEOSage is not affiliated with them.
